Lovesong Bookclub

Here are some photos from our inaugral meeting which focussed on the book Lovesong by Alex Miller. There were mixed views on this text, and overall it was not deemed a favourite book by any of the 'bitches'.

A new month, a new book

Lovesong has been officially critiqued. The poll has been reset and we are ready to take on Pat Barker (see bio by clicking on book image above).

Next book club will be at Jephson St hosted by Anna on Thursday Feb 11.

Inaugural Bookclub dinner

BBQ chicken, cheese, homemade guacamole, sangria and pav!

After the feast and chats about dolphin slaughter and gratuitous sex scenes, we finally got down to business.

The ground rules are:

1. No self help books

2. No self help books

3. Meetings will be held on the first Wednesday of every month (at 8pm)

4. Hosts choose the book for the following month

We also planned our first 6 book club meetings (I'm working on a calendar for the blog).

Cate, our first host, chose 'Lovesong' by Alex Miller, which will be discussed on Wednesay 13th January 2010.
